The quest for an estate fulfilling all our predetermined requirements - "to scale the heights of production quality in order to carry forward the successful family history based on a passion for our work and care for the land" - was as exciting as it was difficult.
After years of searching, in 2005 we fell in love with a plot of land at Civitella in Val di Chiana, in the province of Arezzo - a part of Tuscany that is still surprisingly unknown for its fine wine production.
The estate needed modification work both in the vineyards and in the cellar, but we felt the land was perfect, as well as the team of professionals we picked out and who followed us into this new adventure.
And it was after the first harvest, in 2006, that we understood how reliable our first instinct had been, and felt certain that we could truly bring this ambitious project to fruition.
Our wines reflect a specific philosophy: absolute respect for the terroir and the expression of this in the various grape varieties.
